Thanksgiving Tablescapes

While Thanksgiving is surely a foodie's holiday, with a bountiful meal and grateful heart being the focus of the day's festivities, the table setting is still worthy of some consideration. After all, we eat with our eyes first, and being seated at a beautiful table will only make the feast that much finer. With that in mind, here are a few of my favorite tablescapes from Thanksgivings past.

Modern Harvest

Elements: Indigo + Copper + Greenery

The most design-forward tablescape amongst those shared here, this gorgeous setting definitely gives guests a feast for the eyes. Combining rustic elements like an olive leaf garland and cornucopia centerpiece with modern accents like shibori napkins and copper flatware, the beauty lies in the contrast. A tight color palette of soft greens and mixed metallics lets the indigo pop off of the plates. Find the full details here.

Beautiful Bounty

Elements: Harvest Crops + Canvas + Feathers

Using a clean drop cloth in place of linens offers a literal blank canvas for your table decor. Here I piled harvest crops down the length of the table to act as an edible runner, some that guests can eat and some that pay homage to the dishes being served. A single feather on each guest's plate is a plucky ode to Turkey Day. Find the full details here.

Foraged Feast

Elements: Leaves + Vines + Amber Bottles

By far the most simplistic and yet equally elegant of all of the tablescapes, I pulled this foraged look together using clippings right from my front yard -- some jasmine vines, wild ferns, and a few dried bits. Instead of vases, I used a trio of empty amber beer bottles. The unruly wreath above the table unifies the foraged theme.

Kids' Table

Elements: Kraft Paper + Turkeys + Fun Name Cards

Don't forget the kiddos! In fact, a well-stocked kids' table may just be enough to keep the little ones occupied long enough for the adult guests to enjoy some uninterrupted conversation. Kraft paper and crayons are a sure staple, but get creative with the name cards like Mayflower snack boats, or snack-filled paper turkey legs. Of course, every kids' table needs a turkey charm -- pinecone turkeys and acorn turkeys are equally adorable.

However you choose to set your table, I hope your holiday is a fine one!
